Haunted Houses

Haunted Houses or Creepy Looking houses are what i truly love! The eerie feeling that you aren't safe or you are being watch by something you could walk through is so spine chilling cool!
What about this image doesnt make you excited.....The chance to see something that you "Shouldn't" see......
This house is truly beautiful in sooo many ways! From the age of it to the lines and curves of the design. I wonder what it looks like in side and who all still occupy this home!

"These creaky homes and hotels have a hair-raising history they just can’t escape – and visitors that just won’t leave BY AMY SCHELLENBAUM. Winchester Mystery House: At the turn of the 20th century, a wealthy widow in San Jose, California consulted a psychic, who told her construction on her California home would deflect the spirits who died at the wrong end of the “gun that won the west.” For 38 years carpenters worked at all hours, building dozens of eerie add-ons and mazes to bewilder the ghosts. The result? Perhaps the most bizarre estate in American history."

The 50 Scariest Movies of All Time

The Boston Globe has a list of the 50 scariest movies of all time. A great resource for the Halloween season. If you want to find the best movies to watch to keep you on your toes this year this is the list to see!
The #1 movie is The Thing (1982)
"Scariest movie . . . ever!" We mean it. The film follows a crew stationed at an Antarctic base stalked by a shape-shifting alien. Which member of the crew is the alien? The crew doesn't know, and neither does the audience until the creature begins one of its stomach churning transformations. If the scene where the guy's head sprouting insect legs to escape doesn't give you nightmares consult a therapist immediately.

The Haunted Holiday

During the Halloween holiday there are so many ghoulish and haunted theme costumes and decorations to be found. Homes decorated to look like a cemetery with everything from tomb stones to skeletons, and costumes for ghosts to zombies. This is definitely the holiday that we think of when we say haunted. There is  an air about the town on this night that both the kids and adults love! It's fun to scare and be scared on Halloween!
Wikipedia  says that the roots of Halloween are both Celtic and Christian. The Celtic view is the celebration of the end of the lighter half of the year and the beginning of the darker half of the year. It is often thought of as the Celtic New Year.
Wikipedia has a full page of some great information and fun activities for the family to participate in for the holiday. To read up on Halloween click here.

A Christmas Carol

Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is one of the most famous stories of Christmas and of ghosts. Ebeneezer Scrooge's dead buisness partner comes back to warn him of his horrible ways and vows that three ghosts or spirits will come to him through the night to teach him what his choices have caused, the anguish and pain. He had even lost the love of his life over his love of money and greed.

While this is a work of fiction, it is a haunting all the same.

New Approach

So I decided to take a new approach in talking about holidays and talk about more of the hauntings that take place during the holidays! Everyone is curious about ghosts/hauntings and being that i am in love with holidays why not talk about them both. So this is the opening to what is bound to be a Ghostly blog!
